George Whiteside, MS, EAMP

Credentials and Affiliations:

  • George has held a license to practice East Asian Medicine (EAM) in Washington state since 1997.

  • George graduated from Bastyr University with a Master's degree in Acupuncture sciences in 1997 and a Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine in 1998.  

  • George is a NCCAOM certified practitioner in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine and is also a member of the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (AAAOM).

  • George served on the board of directors of the Washington East Asian Medicine Association (WEAMA) as president from 2005 to 2010, during which he lead the first major overhaul of the scope of practice and title of the profession since it's inception in 1985.  The Governor signed the resulting bill, SSB 6280, into law in April of 2010.

Patient Centered Integrative Care:

  • George Whiteside, MS, EAMP, consults and cross-refers when necessary with a range of providers from medical doctors to massage therapists.  He aspires to the emerging model of patient centered integrative medicine, in which patients take an active role in their own care and seek consultation from a range of complementary providers.
